THE PROCESS

The initial plan for this project was to develop a range of content for two (2) competing brewing companies. I am relieved I did not go down this path and decided to focus on the one (1) brand of Capital Brewing Co. Putting my efforts and creative skills into the one brand has in the end paid off.

A record and summary of how the project was undertaken over the course of the semester. With behind the scene information being recorded on instagram under the handle @AbodeFilming along with the process in developing film and content.

In the end a use of both commercial free video and audio content was brought together to highlight Capital Brewing Co. Voice overs were done by me while all graphics / transitions were used via After Effects. Many Youtube tutorials were also viewed. In the end I decided a dedicated website would be the ideal setting to display the level of content developed for this project.

ROAD BUMPS

Clearly hampered by restrictions due to Covid-19, the use of green/blue screening was going to be the theme for this assignment and using Roto brushing also. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 I was unable to order an appropriate green screen in time, let alone visit a shop front directly to do so. A number of other 'at home' ideas needed to occur.

A 'studio' was setup in my garage with the idea of painting the wall green behind the camera. Unfortunately, due to the roughness of the cement wall, ultra-keying out the needed area did not occur. Lighting was an issue through filming also and ensuring the lighting for each can replicated each other.

In Summary, I needed to pivot direction of the project due to the video / images I was taking were not high enough quality. I used a combination of images I had taken of can's which looked wet/cold and 'real' with images and logo's from Capital Brewing Co. website.

All audio used on this project were sourced from Audio Library - YouTube and sound effects from Freesound.
